Get Bottle Mail
The Windows app is the full Bottle Mail. It installs for your user account only, needs no administrator rights, and keeps itself up to date: new versions download in the background and install when you restart the app.

The installer is not code-signed yet (a certificate is on the way), so Microsoft Defender SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC” and names an unknown publisher. To continue:
- Select More info.
- Check the file name starts with
BC10-Mail-Setup, then select Run anyway.
Your browser may also ask you to keep the download. If you prefer, compare the checksum below before you run it.
Check it in PowerShell: Get-FileHash .\ -Algorithm SHA512
System requirements
| Windows | Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit). The glass look uses Windows 11 effects and falls back to solid colours on Windows 10. |
|---|---|
| Processor | Any 64-bit PC: Intel, AMD or ARM. The download picks the right version for your PC. |
| Disk space | About 300 MB for the app, plus your mail cache |
| Mail accounts | Any IMAP/SMTP mailbox, for example Gmail, Yahoo or iCloud with an app password. Microsoft is phasing out app passwords, so many Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 accounts need Sign in with Microsoft, which is coming. |
| Install | Per user, no administrator rights; you can choose the folder |
Questions
Which installer should I pick?
The main button picks the right one for your PC when your browser can tell. If you are unsure, “Both” works on any 64-bit Windows PC and installs the matching version.
How do updates work?
The app looks for a new version shortly after it starts and then every hour. A new version downloads quietly in the background and installs the next time you restart or quit the app; you choose when. Your mail, settings and keys are kept. You can turn off automatic downloads, or get early updates, in Settings → Updates. More about updates.
Can I use Bottle Mail without installing anything?
Yes. Open the web app and sign in with your own mailbox (IMAP and SMTP, for example with an app password). It runs as a guest session: nothing is stored after you sign out, and features that need to keep running while you are away, such as snooze, rules and scheduled send, are only in the Windows app.
How do I uninstall?
Use Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Bottle Mail → Uninstall (until its next update the app may still be listed as BC10 Mail). Your mail stays on your mail server.
Is there a Mac, Linux or phone version?
Not as a separate download yet. On a phone, Mac or Linux PC, use the web app in your browser; on a phone you can choose Add to Home Screen to open it like an app.
