Telling accounts apart
With more than one mail account, every message shows which account it came to, by name and by colour.
Windows, web and phoneThe account label
When you use two or more accounts, each message in a shared list carries a small label with the account’s short name, outlined in the account’s colour, for example “Work” or “Home”. The colour is never the only sign, so the label works for everyone.
Until you choose a short name, Bottle Mail suggests one: your name for the account, the part before the @, or the domain, whichever tells your accounts apart.
Received at
An open message says Received at followed by the address it was sent to. This helps when one account has several addresses. When you reply or forward, it goes out from that same address.
Change the colour or the short name
- Windows app: open Settings, then Accounts, and pick a colour or type a short name.
- Web app: open Settings and find the account.
- Phone: open Settings and tap the account under Mail accounts.
A short name can have up to 20 characters. Leave it empty to use the suggested one. On the web and your phone the change is saved for both.
Questions
Why don’t I see any labels?
Labels show only when you have two or more accounts, and only in lists that mix them, such as All inboxes.
